The Assam Secondary Education established in 1961, under the Assam Act, xxv of 1964.The Assam board of education provided the secondary education for all the children of Assam State. The Act came into force with effect from 29th January, 1962 with the publication of the Government of Assam, Education Department Notification no. 159/61/37 dated 29/1/1962. The Assam board of education started its 10th board exam from 1962 .The Assam Secondary education.
The Assam board was to provide better opportunity to the student for their future development. The Board was first accommodated in the Conference Room of the office of D.P.I., Assam at Shillong. It was shifted to a rented house at Rehabari (Guwahati). The Board started functioning from June 1,1962 to February 26,1963. There are a lot of subjects are also provided by the Assam Board for the 10th class student.
